Smoking Cigarettes vs. Smoking Marijuana

There are one billion smokers in the world today, all with different preferences. Inherently, in the U.S. the most common cause of cancer mortality is lung cancer. The world’s leading pathologists agree in unison that the main carcinogens found in cigarettes such as naphthylamine, polycyclic hydrocarbons, and arsenic are agents that damage DNA and increase the risk of cancer. Inhaling these agents from one cigarette can cause up to ten mutations in a cell’s DNA. Although marijuana does not contain any carcinogens that are known or directly associated to cancer, the indirect health risks are still being explored in research. Non-smokers evidently have the ultimate advantage when it comes to decreasing their chances of contracting lung cancer.
