In Medicine…

An eighty-six year old gardener fell face first on a pair of pruning shears outside his home. The handle had passed through the man’s eye socket, penetrating all the way down to his neck, where it rested on his carotid artery. Surgeons made incisions beneath his right upper lip in his sinus wall and loosened the handle of the shears with their fingers. Astonishingly, they were able to save the eye and place it anatomically back in the socket. Four weeks later, the patient was only suffering minor effects from the accident.

In medicine: we declare the past, diagnose the present, foretell the future.
