A Recipe for Dreams

As I myself continue to reach for my dreams and goals, I have come to find that it is a lifelong process and really is about the journey. I have found the “secret” to accomplishing goals is to find something you love and give one hundred percent to get to that goal. This means talking to people who are already where you want to be, putting certain pleasures of life aside for awhile in the name of delayed gratification, getting up and learning after failures, the greatest blessings in disguise, and being prepared for your path to change.

One thing I see holding people back is that they don’t focus on the goal at hand. I have made this mistake, wanting to achieve a million things at once, not being able to finish what I set out to do. Another obstacle I see that holds people back is either they don’t really want what they say they want. This is usually because what they say they want is something that society or their loved ones approve of or they may really want it but don’t think they can do it. In either case, it boils down to not feeling good enough. Regardless, I really believe that if you want something, you will create a path that often requires soul-searching to remove obstacles.

Also, no one else is going to live your life for you but you, so while it is ok to hear what others have to say, do what you want in the end.

Speaking from experience, I will say a lot of my journey has been about developing self-confidence and healing parts of me that didn’t feel good enough. Once I was able to learn some powerful lessons, I was able to move forward on my path. I was led to places I never thought I would go and I learned some great tools and insights to share with others. That being said, I still have to tell myself “Aunna, you got this.”
